虫-order chóng

An insect, in the seal writing represents a snake, probably a poisonous snake, called huí now written 虺. It is the 142nd radical and used for 蟲 chóng , which anciently meant animals with legs, but now means the smaller animals, as frogs, worms, snails, insects.
